A Birthday Gift

A young man wanted to purchase a birthday gift for his sweetheart and after much consideration decided on a pair of gloves. Accompanied by his sister, he went to a ready-to-wear store and purchased the gloves while his sister was buying a pair of panties.

By mistake, he sent the package containing the panties to his girlfriend as a gift. They were accompanied by this note from him.

My Darling Sweetheart,

This is a token to remind you that I am thinking of you on your birthday. I choose these because I thought you needed them, as I noticed you were not wearing any the last time we went out for the evening. If it had not been for my sister, I would have gotten them shorter but she said the longer ones were more practical.

These are a delicate color. The lady I bought them from showed me a pair she had been wearing for months and they were hardly soiled. I let her try yours on and they sure looked sweet! How I wish I were there to put them on you for the very first time!

No doubt many will come in contact with them before I see them. I didn’t know the exact size but I should be capable of judging better than anyone else. Put them on when cleaning them or otherwise they will shrink. I do hope you will receive and accept them in the spirit is which they were sent.

I hope to see you wearing the next Friday night! I am thinking of all the times in the future when I shall be kissing the backs of them!
